Annual Initiative
The GIRLS NOLA Pink Drive
The inability to afford menstrual and hygiene products is a very real challenge for many young women and girls throughout New Orleans. DSEF's GIRLS NOLA Pink Drive is a community-centered campaign created to combat period poverty and promote menstrual health equity. Led by the mentees of GIRLS NOLA, this annual initiative brings together community leaders, businesses, and organizations to collect and distribute feminine hygiene products to individuals and families in need.
2025 Goal — The Pink Drive Project
Dispensers in Every School
The Pink Drive Project aims to place feminine hygiene dispensers in every female stall in schools across the city. In 2025, we will pilot this initiative in 3 local schools — making hygiene products accessible to every girl, every day.

Operation Giveback
DSEF's Operation Giveback is dedicated to healing, service, and compassion throughout the city of New Orleans. This program reflects the belief that consistent acts of service are essential to building stronger, more connected communities. Throughout the year, DSEF hosts a series of initiatives designed to encourage collective giving and support for individuals and families in need.
Feed the Homeless
DSEF brings volunteers together to serve the unhoused population of New Orleans by providing hot meals, snack bags, hygiene kits, and essential everyday supplies. This initiative reflects our commitment to seeing and serving every member of our community with dignity and compassion.
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Program
Each holiday season, DSEF provides support to 1–3 selected families — fulfilling children's holiday wish lists and assisting parents with essential household items. This program ensures that every family we serve experiences a joyful, dignified, and memorable holiday season.
